Our Working Model

Since March 2020, we’ve been working entirely from home across pretty much all of our departments. True to our “You Matter” value, the health of our teams is our top priority. All our meetings, therefore, take place via video conference. The cooperation of our multinational teams has gotten even closer across all locations.

Of course, we’ve equipped our staff with hardware so they can comfortably work from home. With a laptop, docking station and monitor, as well as a keyboard, mouse and headset, our colleagues have everything they need for their daily work. In addition, at the beginning of 2021, we delivered desks and office chairs directly to our employees, so that everyone in the company had the right setup at home.

Staff opinion is critical to us when planning for the future. So, we conducted an internal survey to gather comprehensive feedback on how our staff feel about working from home. The results were clear: the advantages of having a ‘home office’ far outweigh the disadvantages. But it’s the social aspects of our work that we all miss very much.

Therefore, as soon as we can justify it in terms of the workforce’s health, we’ll switch to a working mode where we can work remotely up to four days a week in most departments. This gives us the flexibility of working from home, while ensuring that individual teams can still meet in person once a week in the office. After all, we’re also “Better Together”. You’ll find more information about our new working mode in this article by Nils, our Director People & Culture.

Employees in our logistics centres and stores will continue to work on site. However, thanks to comprehensive hygiene concepts, we’ve ensured there have been no transmissions in the workforce so far. We provide suitable masks and ensure compliance with the applicable distance rules and mask requirements onsite (which also apply to external visitors). We’ve also equipped all our sites with numerous disinfectant dispensers and provide self-tests too.
